This route is the one for the braver, which will challenge your physical strength and volition, yet, it is worth the effort. Ride on the roads that are so close to the blue sky, worship the high snow mountains that are so sacred to the locals, enjoy the natural beauty that are so colorful and chat with hospital Tibetans who can sing so good songs, this is a route leading to Shangri-la - a perfect world.
Day1 Your sweet home / Chengdu Transfer via:International Flight on your arrangement. Upon your arrival at Chengdu (500m altitude), you will be met and transferred to the hotel for a rest before a delicious dinner of Sichuan food at a local restaurant.
Day2 Three-hour bus to Wolong Nature Reserve (1900m altitude)-the home of the Giant Pandas, after checking in the hotel and lunch, visit the Giant Panda Museum and Giant Panda Garden, where you can get very close to the cute animals and get better understanding of the Giant Panda.
Day3 Cycling from Wolong to Rilong Town which is one of the most difficult days due to the hard climb to the top of Balang Mountain at 4487m altitude.
Day4 Cycling from Rilong to Xiaojin County along DaweiRiver with beautiful scenery along the way.
Day5 Cycling from Xiaojin County to Danba County with the beautiful rurality and houses in Tibetan style.
Day6 Cycling from Danba County to Bamei Town which is pleasant with various views due to the change of altitude and hospitable people.
Day7 Cycling from Bamei Town to Xinduqiao Town on the dusty road, yet the view and unique folk customs such as snow mountains, Tibetan villages and people, pastures, pine tree forests, cypress, lamasery, white pagodas etc. along the way are the compensation.
Day8 Rest day--Refreshing in Xinduqiao.
Day9 Cycling from Xinduqiao Town to Yajiang County-another one of the hardest days with enjoyable views.
Day10 Cycling from Yajiang to No.135 Road Management Station which is another hard day by climbing Mt.Jianziwan at 4659m altitude.
Day11 Cycling from No.135 Road Management Station to Litang County by climbing over Mt. Kazila at 4718m altitude.
Day12 Cycling from Litang County to a pasture with lots of big grotesque cobbles left from millions of years ago by conquering Mt.Tuer at 4696m altitude.
Day13 Cycling from the pasture to Daocheng County which is not so painstaking ride today with beautiful scenery of the high plateau along the way.
Day14 Cycling from Daocheng County to Yading Village with stunning and colorful view along the way.
Day15 Rest day in Yading Village.
Day16 Cycling from Yading Village back to Daocheng County.
Day17 Cycling from Daocheng County to Xiangcheng County-another hard day with various views and Tibetan houses.
Day18 Cycling from Xiangcheng County to Zhongwenshui by passing virgin forests and big gorges.
Day19 Cycling from Zhongwenshui to Zhongdian (Shangri-laCounty) with nice view and Tibetan houses.
Day20 Cycling from Zhongdian (Shangri-laCounty) to Qiaotou with beautiful rural scenery and white pagodas.
Day21 Cycling from Qiaotou to the old ferry to take the ferry to get across the Jinsha River, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge along the way, and then cycling from the ferry on Daju Side to the hostel in Daju.
Day22 Cycling from Daju to Lijiang which is an UN World Heritage Site partly on the gravel road with colorful view.
Day23 Rest day - free day in Lijiang.
Day24 Lijiang /Kunming /Your sweet home Transfer via:Internal Flight on our arrangement and then International Flight on your arrangement. After breakfast, our local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to Kunming, where you will transfer your international flight back to your sweet home.

Sichuan & Yunnan Cycling Route

1. The best months for this cycling route are September and October.
2. The average altitude of this route is quite high, during the ride, you will climb 9 mountains whose altitude is over 4000m, and the difference of altitude is high as well for some of the days, so prepare some medicine against reaction of high altitude if necessary or some chocolate, and please control your speed according to your physical condition during the ride.
3. Due to the high altitude, the temperature difference is high between the day and the night, and it will be very changeable within a day, so please bring enough clothes and raincoat to suit different situations.
4. Bring hat, sunglasses & sunscreen with you, because the sunlight of the high plateau can be very stronger during the noon time.
5. Drink more water, have more vegetables and fruit, or take a pill of Vitamin C each day.
6. Keep warm, try not to take shower for the first several days and try to avoid catching a cold.
7. Bring some necessary medicines with you, such as: the medicines for flu, sore throat, coughing, diarrhea, etc that you use at home.
8. Pack light, as according to the regulation in China, the luggage allowance for the first class ticket holders is 40 kilos (88 pounds) per person, 30kg (66pounds) per person for business class ticket holders and 20 kilos (44 pounds) per person for economy class ticket holders (adults). Some of the airports are very strict on these allowances.
9. The official currency in mainland China is the Renminbi (RMB) or "People's currency." We suggest that you exchange money on the first day in the hotel at which you stay, otherwise you may have to wait for several days until you reach some bigger towns. The amount you need to exchange for the first time is USD150 to USD200.
10. You can bring cash or travelers' cheques with you. You can use US dollars, Euros or English pounds to pay bills in the hotels or in the friendship stores. To buy things from vendors outside the scenic spots, to pay for any optional tours and to tip porters, tour guides and drivers or whomever you want to tip, use Renminbi (RMB). You will be unable to use US dollars or other foreign currencies in department stores, small convenience stores, local restaurants with street vendors.
11. ATM machines are only available in big cities or towns, you need to have password to withdraw money from ATM.
12. Cycling routes involve many small rural areas, where the sanitary condition may not be so good. It is sensible to take with you some sanitizer or wet tissues to clean your hands before you eat.
13. Purchase some raw ginger in the local market. Eat a little piece each time with the meals or put it in the warm water, which can help your circulation and stomach and relieve pain.
14. The water from the tap in the most hotels is not drinkable, so always drink the boiled water or bottled water.
15. Respect the customs of local people, especially when you go to visit the areas of different minorities. Ask your tour guides about the proper etiquettes, behaviors, manners and taboos to avoid offending people.
16. Most Chinese people are friendly, but before you take their pictures, it is better to ask for the permission beforehand.
17. Do not tease the dogs along the way, especially Tibetan dogs that can be very furious to the strangers.
